By adopting science-based targets, Greens aim to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in a manner consistent with the level of decarbonisation necessary to limit global temperature rise to below 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels, as outlined in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's Fifth Assessment Report (IPCC AR5).
